• Hi, I'm Greg Nance

My earliest memories are chasing Dad on evergreen forest trails. I wasn't very fast and I couldn't run very far but I loved it. Running has always made me smile.

In the years since, I've jogged 49 countries and run some of the toughest footraces on the planet. Highlights include running the UK coast-to-coast, 124 miles thru the Malaysian highlands, and 100 miles across the Philippine jungle. In 2015 I was profiled in Adventure World Magazine for finishing the 250KM Gobi March with a sprained knee. But my all-time favorite was running 155 miles with Dad thru Chile's Atacama Desert, the world's driest, and crossing the finish line together!

I recently ran 7 Marathons in 7 Days on 7 Continents. Beginning with 26.2 miles in Antarctica, I then ran back-to-back marathons in Cape Town, Perth, Dubai, Madrid, Santiago, and Miami!

  • My Mission

    I'm running to inspire students

    I believe Education = Opportunity

I love taking on epic challenges to inspire students around the world to dream bigger and keep working hard to make it happen.

I was only able to attend my dream schools, UChicago and Cambridge, with the help of scholarships. I'm on a mission to pay it forward by running the world's toughest footraces to help students overcome the financial barriers to college.

  • What's Next?

In 2020 I'm chasing Fastest Known Time "FKT" records to keep pushing my limits.

So far, I've set the FKT for runs across Shanghai, NYC, Chicago, LA, DC, The Bund, Montreal, and Huangpu River!

On May 5th I set the Fastest Known Time running between Shanghai's two airports: Hongqiao and Pudong ✈️✈️

It was a 35-mile (57KM) run across urban jungle - 3x longer than the distance between NYC's LaGuardia and JFK - to traverse this sprawling city of 24 million.

I covered the course in 5:46:00 to set the new #ShanghaiFKT

On June 11th I set out from Chicago's O'Hare Airport at sunrise and ran 21 miles (34KM) south to Midway Airport ✈️✈️

I had to jump a barbed-wire fence to exit O'Hare, dodge 100+ potholes, and bolt thru 38 red lights on the path :-)

I covered the course in 2:35:11 to set the new #ChicagoFKT.

  • Did I mention I'm a huge Seahawks fan? :-)

I love cheering with the world's best fans! Go Hawks!

"His fandom started at a young age, wearing his #12 Seahawks jersey to peewee football practice, continuing to represent over the years wearing a Seahawks cap while running some of the toughest footraces in the world." -Seahawks story recapping 777

My running career peaked in November 2016 when Delta Air Lines named me "12 Ambassador" to the Seattle Seahawks and featured my ultra running in TV commercials.

I enjoyed my 15 minutes of fame :-)
